Sydney Rose Royale : Le Jupon
I understand that in some way o was waiting for me with the huge baskets that I hope to be able to make, but for the moment I'm only at the petticoat stage. I know that in the 18th century the more petticoats the better, but I've stuck to just one. That's why I wanted it to be elegant by adding a flounce of beautiful lace (from Boutique Mokuba in Paris, of course).
It only took me a week (five days) to make the pattern, transfer it onto the cotton voile and make it. The longest part, after all, was choosing the lace and how to attach it.
I'm happy with the results of the hours I spent at my sewing table, even though most of the time there wasn't enough light outside, forcing me to use electric light.
Fortunately, once again, there was a ray of sunshine that allowed me to take all these shots of the young lady in her petticoat.
La conclusion on la doit à Sydney
Sydney's conclusion
And now, you might ask, the baskets? Not yet. I still have one more element to add, which was essential for the ladies of the time: pockets. They are positioned under the baskets.
